I believe the moose are bored and playing "Take me if you can" with the train 🦌 🚂

As a train driver, this happened a couple of times for me. The only thing that scares them away is the sanding system, they don't like the sound of sand.. :D

People don't understand the scene. Moose instinct is to run away using the CLEAREST ROAD. They will count on their great speed and stamina to outrun the predator BUT they will be using the most open path. Here it's the obvious track path !!! This scene must have been going on for much longer. Train ingeneer trying it's best to avoid chasing or running over the animal who at this point is most likely exhausted and desperately trying last option "fighting or scaring" the train/predator. We are lucky it choose to go out the road. It can only happen if train come to full stop and stop threat/menace... Most train will keep going full speed run over the animal 😢

Interesting inside fact: He wanted the guy to get out of the cab of the train to defend his honor for so blatantly letting out such a ridiculous train honk unnatural call on that bull moose's territory. It wasn't a tough guy act./that moose was a determinant amount of tough> Tbh tho; upon not watching it twice~ He truly waited as long as he could before he showed the both of them that he was the bigger man and walked away. *If that brakeman, or even the engineer got out of the cab of that locomotive - both of them would have been dead, good luck driving a big ass train like that from a standing start with only one crew member

Here's a good use for roman candles or some other fireworks to freak them out and develop a healthy fear of trains. It looks like the fire hazard is pretty low. And something loud and fountain like a Picclo Pete.

Wow this is wild!! My guess is the Moose wanted to stay on the tracks since they were a solid surface. Moose don’t really do well in deep snow, especially in forests! That’s one reason why they can sometimes live in lower elevations during the winter

Hilarious! Thousands and thousands of square yards of safe space on either side of the tracks, but no - the moose just HAS to stay right between the rails!

there is the rest of the video before they cut it off that shows a pack of starving wolves and grizzlies were pacing along next to the train. The sad truth the moose was devoured they say in roughly 7 minutes even the bones ---sadly seconds after the video ended.
